Vitamina D3+K2 2000IU + 75ug, 60 Softgels, 60 Servings

DESCRIPTION

DY Life D3 + K2 is a supplement that combines vitamin D3 (cholecalciferol) with vitamin K2 in the MK-7 form, two fat-soluble vitamins that work synergistically to support bone health, muscle function, and overall physiological balance.

Vitamin D3 contributes to the optimal absorption and utilization of calcium and phosphorus, processes essential for maintaining healthy bones and teeth. (1) It also supports normal immune system function and contributes to the maintenance of normal muscle function. (2) In addition, vitamin D plays a role in cellular division and overall metabolic balance, being involved in numerous physiological mechanisms throughout the body.

Vitamin K2 complements the action of vitamin D3 through its role in calcium metabolism. It helps direct calcium toward the tissues where it is needed most, particularly bones and teeth, while supporting the maintenance of healthy bone structure. (3)

The MK-7 form (menaquinone-7) is recognized for its high bioavailability and longer activity within the body compared to other forms of vitamin K. Research has investigated its role in supporting bone health, including in the context of age-related bone mineral density loss and postmenopausal bone health. (4) The combination of vitamin D3 and vitamin K2 is widely used to support bone mineralization and calcium metabolism, as the two vitamins play complementary roles in maintaining skeletal health.

KEY BENEFITS

Bone Health & Calcium Metabolism

Vitamins D3 and K2 together provide the most comprehensive nutritional support for bone mineralisation available from dietary supplementation. D3 increases calcium absorption from the gut; K2 MK-7 activates osteocalcin to direct that calcium into the bone matrix and inhibits soft-tissue calcification via MGP activation. This dual mechanism supports bone density, structural bone integrity and long-term skeletal health - benefits particularly relevant as age-related bone mineral density loss accelerates after 40.

Immune System Function

Vitamin D3 plays a well-established and widely researched role in normal immune system function - influencing both innate and adaptive immune responses. Vitamin D receptors are expressed on virtually all immune cells, and adequate vitamin D status is associated with normal immune regulation and resilience. This benefit is particularly relevant during the UK winter months when vitamin D levels are at their lowest and respiratory illness rates are at their highest.

Normal Muscle Function

Vitamin D contributes to the maintenance of normal muscle function - including muscle strength, contraction efficiency and neuromuscular coordination. Low vitamin D status is associated with muscle weakness and increased fall risk in older adults, making supplementation with an adequate D3 dose particularly important for maintaining physical function and independence with age.

Dental Health

Vitamins D3 and K2 contribute to the normal mineralisation of teeth alongside their role in bone health. Calcium absorption (supported by D3) and calcium direction to mineralised tissues (supported by K2 MK-7) are both relevant to the maintenance of healthy tooth structure and density.

Cellular Division & Metabolic Balance

Vitamin D is involved in a broad range of physiological processes beyond its classical calcium-related roles - including the regulation of cell growth and division, gene expression, and metabolic balance across multiple organ systems. Vitamin D receptors are present in most cell types throughout the body, reflecting the systemic importance of adequate vitamin D status for overall physiological function.

Why MK-7 Is the Superior Form of Vitamin K2

The MK-7 form of vitamin K2 - as used in DY Life D3 + K2 - is preferred for daily supplementation over MK-4 due to its significantly longer biological half-life (approximately 3 days vs 1–2 hours), broader tissue distribution reaching both bone and vascular tissue, and the substantial clinical research base supporting its effects on bone health, osteocalcin activation and bone mineral density in postmenopausal and ageing populations.
